What will publishing look like 5 yrs from now? Today, people can write a book, instaprint online, and start selling the book right out of the trunk of their car.
But that’s the catch, it’s the trunk of their car.
Publishing companies spend millions of dollars just to find the right books, the right authors, and the right time to sell. They have a whole shmorgish-board of marketing directors, artists, editors. Excellent people who have made a career out of ol’fashon printing.
Online-instaprint is like a microwavable book. ugg. It’s good in a pinch or for your coffee table, but it will never be the slow roasted prime rib that book readers love.
Bottom line: Instaprint websites create fancy binding while publishers create lasting works of literature.

I’m beginning a masters soon and would be very interested in some dialogue with you and getting a hold of your paper of rob bell’s use of biblical backgrounds to help me with some subject matter.
