“what can be said? what can be done”

As promised, this is me keeping you in the loop.

That means I’m leaving.

If you’ve been reading my blog lately you’ve probably realized this: there is nothing to read. Yes, theCollegeKid is going on vacation indefinitely. I am currently undertaking another project that requires much of my time and energy. And if all pans out, it should be well worth the effort.

What is it? Well, lets just say it involves a bus, a road trip, a business, an adventure with friends, a way to pay for college, and one heck of a great idea.

And of course a blog!

Thanks for reading, and I’ll be sure to keep you in the loop.

One of our New Heart Church missionaries spoke for 10 minutes in church today and she shared some very important and insightful things about missionary work.

1. Our most important thing to “do” while on the mission field is just being a Christian.

2. You don’t become super spiritual just by going on the mission field; you’re still the same person, just in a different country.

3. Prayer is the only thing that really works.

4. Unity is essential – and if you’re going to have unity it’s going to take work and a release of your idealisms.

5. I may be in another country as a missionary, but we are the missionary team.

(#1 is my favorite)

It’s been too long since my last blog post. I’m still feeling a bit sick. Blogging makes me think, and thinking doesn’t work quite as well when I’m sick.

But I’m getting better and so the blog posts should start rolling in again soon.

Here’s a funny picture:

Feeling Sick

Yea. I’ve got some sort of cold/cough thing happening right now.

Not the best way to usher in the 22nd year of my life. (Yesterday was my birthday.) But I’m still kicking, so I guess it’s OK. I’m slowly wearing away at my chicken Top Ramen stash. If I stay sick I might have to fork out another $1.20 and get another 10 packs of Top Ramen goodness.

Happy Birthday Matt!

It’s Matt Wilcoxen’s  (or MaWilcoxen) B-Day today (23). And my B-day tomorrow (22). Which means PARTY tonight! Sushi. Games. Friends. Fun. And of course, cake.

Consider the following birthday song a pre-party shout-out to Matt:
